One of the questions most often asked when a fan buys a ticket for an Soap Opera event is, “Where does the money go?” Few people realize how expensive it is to host an event for a huge group of people. The majority of any ticket price usually goes for the cost of the event production , but what of the rest?
Most of our General Hospital actors have special causes that are dear to their hearts and usually, a percentage of money from ticket sales is donated directly to those charities. Some actors are very direct and vocal about their endorsement of their favorite cause, while others are more discreet about their support of specific organizations.
The Official General Hospital Fan Club feels it is important to honor the generous spirits of the GH stars who give so freely to these worthy causes. Listed Below, you will find some of the charities supported by the GH actors. If you feel like giving a little or giving a lot, Donations to these charities can be made at anytime throughout the year, by clicking on the link.
I think we all choose a charity that has touched our lives in one way or another. I have three charities that are near and dear to me. A percentage of the proceeds from our annual event is donated to the following charities.
We currently have approximately 350 + members and are growing rapidly. We are currently available to conduct searches state wide. We are a 501 (c) (3) nonprofit organization, which is funded solely by donations from team members and the surrounding communities.
You will find our organization to be compassionate, dedicated and professional. We believe that we can better ourselves by working together to help the community and people in need. Many of our members are trained in various rescue and life saving skills such as CPR, advanced lifesaving skills and field craft. Our members come from all walks of life. We have business owners, medics, firefighters, housewives, electricians and students on our team. Our resources range from horse and rider teams to foot searchers, water (divers, boats) air (planes, helicopters), dog teams (air scent, cadaver and tracking) and 4×4’s. We have also utilized infared cameras in some of our searches.
Texas EquuSearch is a professional organization and we take notification of a missing person very seriously. If you are interested in volunteering with us, making a donation, learning more or, God forbid, you need our help, please contact us.

The following organization is a special one since this is the place Leslie learned to ride. The New Canaan Mounted Troop is in desperate need for renovations. This is where the money from her Ebay auctions and the luncheon were donated to this year. Donations can now be made on line by clicking the link below. The Leslie Charleson Fan Club will also be sending another donation toward the end of the year; if donations want to be made, they can be sent via PayPal to the fan club and they will be more than glad to pass on the donations.
