General Hospital” is new, improved, and watching it just might make your teeth  whiter  and your hair shinier. That was the message that the entire cast was sending at a recent ABC party for the Television Critics Association. Kelly Monaco shared why she thinks Sam should be with both Jason (Steve Burton) and John (Michael Easton), while Jason Thompson discussed how his current storyline has stretched him as an actor. Jane Elliot and Tony Geary revealed which characters they’d like to see return. Keep reading to learn the answers to these burning questions and so much more.

Kelly Monaco (Sam) and Jason Thompson (Patrick)

Fans have noticed the difference in the show. How have things changed behind the scenes?

Monaco: There’s a support system that’s been missing in the past couple of years. It’s do or die for everyone, and everyone’s really doing their best.

Thompson: I think we’re taking it a little more seriously now. Obviously daytime television is in a little bit of a situation right now and over the past couple years. But I think us being her [at the TCAs] now, ABC sees that we’re ready to step up and produce a great show. It starts with the changes, with executive producer Frank [Valentini] coming over and I think a big part of it was the Emmys. I think we got a lot of recognition from all the nominations and all the wins. We’re all just doing everything we can. It’s a great place to work right now.

Dominic and our friend Patricia Catchouny

On August 28th Dominic made an appearance for Soap Opera Saturday at Alliance Bank Stadium in Syracuse NY.  Fans could purchase tickets for a lunch with Dominic or a dinner buffet and general Q&A. That evening he threw out the first pitch in the game between the Syracuse Chiefs (AAA team for the Washington Nationals) and the Lehigh Ironpigs (AAA team for the Philadelphia Phillies).  I had the honor of being the soloist to sing the National Anthem.  Once the game started, Dominic sat on the concourse to sign autographs and pose for photos.

By Katrina Rasbold

Hello GH Fans!

You know how it works where you commit into something wonderful and time consuming and The Universe sort of chuckles and rolls the bowling ball for a direct strike into your perfectly straight and tall bowling pins?

That’s what happened to me.

Because life has changed a good bit, I am no longer going to be able to provide the detailed recaps of GH.  From here forward, I will need to do shorter ones instead.

So here we go…

Port Chuck Interview with Full Access Magazine

For the past two years, General Hospital soap stars Steve Burton (“Jason Morgan”), Scott Reeves (“Dr. Steve Lars Webber”), Brandon Barash (“Johnny Zacchara”) and Bradford Anderson (“Damian Spinelli”) have been giving their fans a little something extra. In addition to personal appearances made throughout the year to meet and greet with their fan base, the foursome have also been delivering something special with their rock cover band, Port Chuck.

The success of Port Chuck became bigger than they expected during that time. The success of sold-out tours and the release of their second album, ‘Port Chuck: Vol. 2’ (available for purchase through CDbaby.com), leaves the actors wondering just how far this thing can really go. Full Access Magazine recently caught up with Scott Reeves and Steve Burton to discuss the band’s latest album and what is in store for Port Chuck in years to come.

‘General Hospital’ EP on Sonny’s Morality, ‘One Life to Live’ Crossovers and His Obsession with Props

General Hospital” executive producer Frank Valentini  is the comeback kid. After enduring the cancellation of his previous show, “One Life to Live” by both ABC and the production company that wanted to turn it into an online series, he took over the struggling GH. In just six months, he’s turned it into must-see TV, winning accolades from previously disgruntled viewers.

The network has reinvested in the show, giving it a panel at the Television Critics Association gathering, along with all of the network’s new programming. I spoke with Valentini at the ABC party about his belief that spoilers are the root of all evil, managing the OLTL crossover, the mob, the future of the Quartermaines, and his love of props.
