Former Brookfield native and actress Kari Wuhrer(ex-Reese Marshall), best known for her 2002 part in “Eight Legged Freaks,” with actor David Arquette, and the straight-to-video genre of the 1990s, now lives in Los Angeles, where her main occupation these days is being a mom.
Brookfield Magazine caught up with Ms. Wuhrer to talk to her about her newest movie, “Alien Tornado,” with actor Jeff Fahey, which is now playing on the SyFy channel.
“Once you have fans in the sci-fi community, you simply jump at the opportunity to work within that genre because the fans were so loyal and it’s so much fun,” said Ms. Wuhrer in a recent phone interview from her home.
Ms. Wuhrer said working on “Alien Tornado” was a wonderful opportunity to go down to Louisiana. She shot the film while her children were on break.
“I dumped my children in Portland, Ore., with my husband, and he had some quality time with them. I went and worked on this crazy little movie with [actor] Jeff Fahey,” said Ms. Wuhrer.
“Alien Tornado,” directed by Jeff Burr, is about an unusual green-tinted tornado that barrels through a farm town, leaving 15-year-old Jack Lynch homeless and fatherless. Thirty years later the same tornado returns, only this time in numbers.
